About this project
Riccardo Acciarino is a multifaceted clarinettist with an international concert career spanning opposing musical genres. He is recognized as one of the most promising performers in the contemporary European field (Ulysses Network) and has won prizes and garnered appreciation as a soloist, with renowned ensembles (Ensemble Modern, Ensemble Intercontemporain, Lucerne Festival Contemporary Ensemble, Divertimento Ensemble, Syntax Ensemble, IEMA, Ulysses Ensemble etc.) and major orchestras (Lucerne Festival Contemporary Orchestra, Filarmonica della Scala di Milano, Ensemble Modern Orchestra, Pomeriggi Musicali, etc.).Composers of all nationalities have dedicated solo compositions to him, which have been premiered in prominent festivals and seasons (MIXTUR Festival Barcelona, European Clarinet Congress, Rondò Divertimento Ensemble, Overture Syntax Ensemble etc.).
In addition to recordings with renowned labels (Stradivarius, RAI, IRCAM, Hessicher Rundfunk, Limen Music, etc.) he has been invited by RAI and RSI for radio programs entirely focused on his artistic path (Arabesque, La Stanza della Musica, Una Sera in Discoteca).
He regularly collaborates with national and international festivals and associations, among the most important: Tonhalle Zuerich, Lucerne Festival, ManiFeste Paris, Wien Modern, Mixtur Festival, Royaumont Foundation, Pontino Festival, Morellino Festival, Società Del Quartetto, Milano Musica, MITO, Società Umanitaria, La Società dei Concerti, Fondation Franz Listz, Ambrosoli Foundation, Klangspuren Schwaz Festival, 180th festival Sofia, EarFest etc.
As artistic director/curator Acciarino collaborated with associations and foundations such as Guerilla Classics, Gli Amici della Musica Milano, School of Commons, 4BILD etc. Acciarino has also been invited to give lectures and conferences at leading international institutions (ZHdK Zuerich, Conservatorio G. Verdi in Milan, HFMdK Frankfurt, HEMU Lausanne, Conservatorio L. Cherubini in Florence, Conservatorio L. Canepa in Sassari etc.).
Since 2022 Acciarino has been pursuing a research project on today’s musical interpretation, in collaboration with several European universities (Milan, Florence, Ghent, Zurich), which has led him to the production of articles and essays soon to be published by publishers such as EDT, HumDrumPress and SoC. Acciarino is the artistic director and founder of the The No Way Experience, with which he has produced events in Italy and Switzerland, as well as the new CEO of the company SABRE GmbH (LLC), that creates electroacustic interaction sensors.
