About this project

He started his musical education on clarinet at the age of 10. He graduated with distinction from the Master’s Programme at Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice (with Arkadiusz Adamski). In the same year he started PhD studies at his alma mater which he
graduated in 2022. From 2019 he is a principal clarinetist of Kalisz Philharmonic Orchestra. He has gained recognition from a wide audience, performing as a soloist with such orchestras as: Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Opole Philharmonic Orchestra, Silesian Philharmonic Orchestra, Zabrze Philharmonic Orchestra, Kalisz Philharmonic Orchestra. He was performing under the baton of such conductors as Krzysztof Penderecki, Tadeusz Strugała, Jerzy Maksymiuk, Gabriel Chmura, Jose Maria Florencio, Antoni Wit, Marek Moś, Bassem Akiki, Larry Livingston.

Bartek is a laureate of numerous clarinet and chamber music competitions such as Grand Prize winner at 3rd Silverstein Clarinet Contest (2021, USA), Third Reward at 13th Michał Spisak International Music Competition (2021, Poland), Third Prize at XVI International
Clarinet Competition “Saverio Mercadante” (2020, Italy), Third Prize at 51. Karol Kurpiński National Competition for Young Clarinetists (2018, Poland), First Prize at V International Chamber Music Competition in Bydgoszcz (2018, Poland).

He runs an active chamber and orchestral music activity taking part in many prestigious festivals such as: Musikfestspiele Saar, World Music Days in Wrocław, Culture-Nature Festival Katowice, Moravian Autumn, Ticino Musica Festival, ECA Clarinet Festivals,
Emanacje Festival, Beethoven Easter Festival Warsaw.
His devotion to chamber music can be seen also in promotion of polish music. In his repertoire you can find works by Krzysztof Penderecki, Mieczysław Weinberg, Witold Lutosławski, Stefan Kisielewski, Tadeusz Paciorkiewicz and many other polish composers.

Together with pianist Maciej Słapiński he was awarded a Distinction Diploma at prestigious II Stanisław Moniuszko International Competition of Polish Music ( 2021 Rzeszów, Poland).
Bartek Dobrowolski was awarded the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage Scholarship for his outstanding achievements. He is playing on clarinets made by RZ Rericha & Co. representing this manufacture as their artist. He is also a Pro Team Artist for Silverstein
