South Netherlands Philharmonic

About this project

The South Netherlands Philharmonic touches people with classical music. The orchestra is known as the professional symphony orchestra in the south of the Netherlands and seeks to connect with all residents of North Brabant, Limburg and Zeeland. The South Netherlands Philharmonic achieves this through a wide range of activities. Like large symphonic concerts with popular repertoire pieces in the concert halls, new concert formulas in unexpected locations, film projects, ancient masterpieces and exciting world premieres. The organized  Business events establish business connections with the region and the educational projects allow young people to experience magical moments with music. From season 21-22, the South Netherlands Philharmonic will be conducted by chief conductor Duncan Ward (33) and is an orchestra by and for everyone: a vibrant orchestra that always and everywhere performs at the highest level with inspired musicians and staff members. Under the direction of intendant Stefan Rosu, the South Netherlands Philharmonic Orchestra is an orchestra that continuously pushes its boundaries. In season 23-24 the orchestra celebrates its 10th Anniversary.
