Gaetano Falzarano, graduated in Clarinet at the Conservatory of Music ‘San Pietro a Majella’ in Naples, under the guidance of the Teacher R. Di Costanzo. Later, he improves his skills studying with clarinet players like Jack Brymer , Glen Martin, Giovanni Sisillo, Gaetano Russo and Alessandro Carbonare.

In 1989 he won the audition as first clarinet for the Budrio Youth Symphony Orchestra (BO), where he studied under Aldo Sisillo, Fabio Neri and Karl Martin. In 1992 he was first eligible at the clarinet and E-flat clarinet audition for the opera – symphony Orchestra of the San Carlo Theatre  in Naples with which he collaborated  since 1992 to 1998. In 1998 he won the competition for the band of Financial guard, in which he remained a permanent member until 2012.

He has played under the direction of internationally known conductors such as G.Kun, D.Oren, P.Maag, M. Rota, O. Magar, K. Martin, Z Mehta, K. Nagano, S. Mercurio, R. Paternostro etc. Awarded at six national and international competitions. He collaborates as solo clarinet of the Wind Simphonietta directed by G. Mola since 1992.

He recorded for Edi-Pan-Roma , Kicco Music-Milano, for the RAI radio studios in Rome, S.Barbara edition, Raul Terzi sound engeneer and Studio&Studio.

He regularly goes on tour  as a soloist or with chamber music formations performing in the most prestigious halls and theatres of international level.  He performed in Italy, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Germany, New York, China and Japan, Belgium and Poland.

In the academic year 2005-2006, he obtained the second level Academic Diploma at the Conservatory of Music S. Cecilia’ in Rome with the highest marks plus honors. From 2012 to 2018 he held the role of First Clarinet soloist at the Philharmonic Orchestra of the theater ‘G. Verdi’ of Salerno conducted by the M Daniel Oren. He is the artistic director of the Samnium international clarinet competition, and he is also director of the international competition dedicated to Ferdinando Sebastiani.

He conducts the Samnium Clarinet Choir composed by his students. From 2012 to 2014 he held the chair of clarinet at the music conservatory “Pierluigi da Palestrina” in Cagliari. Since 2014 he has held the chair of Clarinet at the Conservatory of Music ‘G. Martucci’ in Salerno.

He is currently an artist of RZ Clarinets, Vandoren Paris and Eddie Daniels Expressions Ligatures.
