About this project
Born in Valencia, he completed his Clarinet high studies at Valencian Music Conservatory Joaquín Rodrigo under the supervision of prof. Juan Vercher, and continued his postgraduate studies with a wide range of excellent teachers as José Miguel Martínez, Ramón Barona, José Luis Estellés, Justo Sanz, Jean Louis Sajot, Yehuda Gilad…
Besides he did his orchestral studies as a conductor at the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music of London with the well-known composer and conductor Fernando Ferrer, and advanced his studies with awarded conductors as Gaspar Sanchis, Vicente Pelechano, Frank de Vuyst and with the conductor Rafa Sanz at the Berklee College of music of Valencia. He also did a PhD in Music at the Polytechnical University of Valencia.
Since 1995 he is a Clarinet professor at the Llíria’s Music Conservatory in Valencia. He accompanies his artistic activity as a soloist and conductor, with his work as a teacher, as well as giving master classes and courses. He has been conductor of different musical groups, highlighting his work as a main conductor of the Mexican National Youth Orchestra in 2014, playing at the closing ceremony at the Lasa Congress in Chicago.
Furthermore, he has been a member of the board of ADEC (Spanish Clarinet Association), organising congress and young clarinet players competitions. He organised and performed at the ClarinetFest 2015 that took place in Madrid. From 2011 to 2016 he was Clarinet Soloist at the Valencian Orchestra Ensemble Musicae. As a very enthusiastic of the pedagogy he has promoted and managed all the music courses four young people SM &MUSIC. He also organised and managed the National Clarinet competition “Llíria, Ciutat Creativa”.
On the other hand he founded and conducts the Clarinet Ensemble of the Llíria´s Music Conservatory , with an original educational program that allow their young members to travel around Europe, working and playing Spanish and Valencian music specially arranged for Clarinet Ensemble. The Project offers the students the opportunity to increase their training in a pedagogical and artistic way.
Salvador Marí is currently teacher at the Music Conservatory of Llíria, City of Music, in Valencia and conducts the Clarinet Ensemble of the Llíria´s Music Conservatory.
