About this project
He studied Clarinet, Composition and Conducting, graduating with honors from the Conservatories of Trapani and Palermo. Currently Teacher, Director of the Complesso Bandistico Città di Caccamo, of the Polyphonic Choir B. Albanese and of the Sicilian Orchestral Ensemble of which he is the founder. In the artistic field he has performed in numerous events, has formed and directed various chamber groups and has to his credit numerous compositions ranging from classical to modern to traditional popular. He has participated in Composition Competitions, Orchestral, Band and Choral Reviews, winning Titles and Awards for the best scores, interpretations and performances in Chicago, Yverdòn, Slovenia, Monfalcone, Trieste, Darfo Boario Terme, Milan, Todi, Ponsacco, Oppido Mamertino , Balestrate, Palermo, Bagheria, Altavilla Milicia, Alessandria della Rocca, Barcellona P. di Gotto, Cefalù, Noto. He has made recordings on Magnetic Tape with solo and chamber performances in the field of Sicilian Folk Music. Together with the Complesso Bandistico Città di Caccamo he recorded a CD entitled “Il Maestro e la Longeva” conducting his own music for Band and Wind Instruments. He wrote and performed the soundtracks of the film “C’era la luna” by the author and director Mimmo Minà, enjoying flattering successes and appreciations especially for the song “Vuci di luna”, the final theme inserted in the long film as a trailer and video-clip. He attended Masters in Orchestral and Band Conducting respectively with Aldo Ceccato and Fulvio Creux. He has deepened the structures and languages of traditional popular music, realizing various projects with his music for excellent groups such as Calamus Ensemble, Etno Clarinet, Clarinet Fest, Lisarenda Quartet, Clarinet Sicily Festival, and for internationally renowned solo instrumentalists such as Antonino Lampasona, Giammarco Casani, Giovanni Mattaliano, Jože Kotar, Paolo De Gasperi, Luca Ferrini. He currently performs with the Trio da camera Classicu Sicilianu as Clarinettist, Composer and Interpreter presenting a musical project characterized by some of his original songs in dialect form that tell a historical-artistic path capable of highlighting the originality of classical Sicilian musical culture and its nobility of soul.
